St. Croix Tribal Community Centers
Services
The St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin operate four community centers in their service area – Danbury Community Center in Danbury, Maple Plain Community Center in Cumberland, Round Lake Community Center in Luck, and Sand Lake Community/Tribal Government Center in Hertel.
Community workers are available at each location to provide information and connections for tribal employment, services, and resources. They provide posted notices, flyers, and St. Croix community calendars, enabling members to see the opportunities and activities going on throughout all of the St. Croix communities. They also provide document services (copy, scan, and fax) and internet access for community members.
The centers also often host cultural activities, regalia classes, arts and crafts, student and youth activities, movie nights, guest speakers, tutoring, fundraising activities, bingo, fitness activities, clubs, community events, and potluck dinners.
In addition, the Danbury and Sand Lake Communities provide daily elders lunches through the Tribal Nutrition Program. Non-tribal and non-elders are welcome for a small cost.
